Carter Farm Lexington Forest patchwork
Carter Farm

Although this is an old farm (thought to be mid 1800’s as evidenced by hand hewn beams, nails, and original house construction) the barn was built in 1895. It has had several owners but is known as “The Old Chase Place” after Omar Chase an native of the area. He never lived here but rented it to tenets who managed the farm. There were three barns on the property and large holes in the ground indicate that. Many pieces of original farm equipment and house furnishings have been donated to the Lexington-Highland History House (located at the entrance of the Back Rd).
